Some may view it as a start to building a portfolio but it sounds like it could be a distraction for you if your goal is to do flips.  

I think a lot of people write him off because he can come across as "sales pitchy" - and while this can distract from his main objective, it doesn't take away from the fact that his program really does work.

With so many people, I get distracted easily and didn't get a chance to circle back around.

But don't let that distract you from me desperately needing advice. 

Is it to give the person who cooks a break (why not have the other spouse cook or have the kids cook), it is to get the family together so they can talk away from distractions (got to the park, on a hike, for a walk).As for paying off debt, I think it depends on a few things: what is the difference in the interest rates (4 vs 5% or 4 vs 30%)? 

I am going to focus on eliminating the distractions (other RE investing strategies, that are all good and have proven to work) and just focus on one for now.

After reading the book, I realized that I would multi-task too often or become distracted by other things [shiny objects] and that I was lacking focus on the projects that really needed my full attention.  

You have differing size windows which is very distracting on the right - bigger or smaller doesn't matter - just make them the same size.If you can NOT move the front door then the only tool you can use is repetition.

I am easily distracted!
