There is a cronic problem with mold in the house that is believed to be sourced from the condensation between the slab and the home when it is occupied in the winter time.

This is highly condensed.

Is too much air escaping through the ceiling in winter and causing condensation (think mold again) to form underneath the roof.

IE condenser unit gets stolen, which as we all know is a national sport in the mid west.So my point is the closer the property is to the owner the easier it is to respond especially if you are in different time zones.

If the condenser is gone, I assume the system needs to be replaced (since it can be tough to match coils from existing systems).

Assume dryer is for vent. lint is breaching the dryers trap an sticking to condenser, resulting in additional or frequent cleaning?

I always thought condensation is natural given the temperature difference.

It is a very popular option and worth the the money. it has an alarm that sounds when the "disconnect" is pulled, which is a necessary step for them to steal the unit. also there are locking cages that mount around the condenser.
