My sons have roommates, friends, but they still have a month to month lease and it states no guns, no illegal drugs and 3 strikes out on alcohol/drama problems.

Personally, I don't provide or leave behind any alcoholic beverages.

The general public and local politicians have little regard for protecting this once prestine natural ressource: the storm sewer overflow issue is without a solution in sight (passing a law to allow the municipal waste water plant to dump raw residential and light industrial sewage into the lake 6 times a year would be political suicide in Europe, just saying) and the DNR recommends to limit fish consumption to once per month, just to keep your mercury intake down a bit..

However I wanted to get clarifications on 2 points. 1- The bill is under the owner's name however don't landlords pass the bill on to avoid over consumption from uncaring tenants?

They wanted to expand as well as offer food and alcohol. 

Not comfortable sharing this tenant story for public consumption.

It's a dry town, so there are no bars, liquor stores, and no alcohol sales in the restaurants (of course bringing alcohol onto the island is allowed). 

Hi @Michael Clay,There are definitely different schools of thought on your approach, but even if you think it might have been a mistake, sometimes we can get away with mistakes :)  If you left a bottle of liquor for a recovering alcoholic, this could have gone south pretty quickly, but it worked out and to your benefit.
