We should pay our soldiers well and make sure the Veteran's Affairs is fully funded.

I'm military myself currently living in NC so I plan on targeting fellow Soldiers as I understand their needs being I've lived the life. 

Often times, you can find younger Soldiers (E5-E6 and O1-O3) that like to live together and split to rent to pocket more cash and would sacrifice the traffic noise for more coin in the pocket.  

At the federal level, our soldiers, sailors and Marines are protecting me and, I think, do a pretty good job for a bunch of federal employees.

They cost us TEN times as much as an American soldier, the number are unknown even to congress, the casualties are not counted (what a convenience) and they "had" no accountability until recently.

Alright, I know the topic is "horror stories," and that we all like to kvetch and debate who's to blame for war...government or soldiers of fortune...but where do we go from here?

Check the BRAC for a local base (Base closure and Realignment Comission) ensure the base isn't getting closed.The soldiers and Sailors act allows a service member to get out of their lease (or any contract) upon receipt of orders.
