Direct Mail Opinions Wanted

Hi all, So I am about to begin my direct mail campaign and I am planning on going the postcard route, at least at first and I have an opinion question for those who have had any success with direct mail. I'm a firm believer in playing to your strengths (in basically any aspect of life). That being said I am in the Military and I am considering putting a picture of me and my fiancé on our postcards with myself in uniform and her just looking dressed up and pretty as usual- at a popular spot in town that everyone knows and likes. So I know that most everyone is either pro or anti military so it's hit or miss but I'm banking on pro. The thing is im 24 and my fiancé is 21 and I'm sure it shows in the pic... I'm not sure if being young is something that might defer potential sellers because they wouldn't take me seriously.. so i would like to hear thoughts on that. Ps: Also we are biracial and she is good looking so I'm banking on that winning people over as well!
