I ran across this article (link below) about this landlords demanding rent for flooded out rental homes during Hurricane Harvey. 

I ran an initial estimate on a property, when I showed it to my contractor, before he went out to the property he thought the dollar amount and the scope looked good.

I ran my numebrs and the property will not work with such low rents.

The covert lot I ran in Raleigh (up to 22 spaces, but we were never close to full) for our members as a 'revenue enhancer' was unattended, automated, easy to manage (handled a few calls a semester), and not a burden.

I know that isn't what you want to hear but it is kind of the culture there.

When I ran the credit check, it did show a large number of inquiries followed by a number of accounts closed due to bankruptcy a little over a year ago.She also said that a company handles all her bills so she would need a letter stating the amount of the deposit and rent and they would send us a check. 

Another alternative , maybe it's just the company you work for , the company culture,etc  and perhaps switching jobs to a different company might make things better? 

Here need talk to building department for address change. depend on city, some are easy some are difficult.BTW, in some Asian culture, 666 is super good lucky number.
