There does seem to be a lot of variation as to if it is enforced because I have heard from people that have not had to install them.

@Alan DavidsonCreating LLCs for rental properties makes NO difference on taxes - whether you have no LLCs, one LLC, multiple LLCs or Series LLCs (an interesting variation allowed by some states).The main purpose of creating LLCs is legal liability protection.
