Over the past few years it seems that more and more people are making the move to the state, and Charlotte has become a new hub for post-college grads to enter the "working" world.

I just should have left that information out in general as it steered the whole conversation away from the question about tips on investing with partners and it seems like the thoughts is to start off investing on my own and then go in on future properties with them.

I'm a resident of the lower Hudson Valley and have not had the chance to explore that area up there but it seems like its close to a number of nice towns like Chatham, NY and the Berkshires within 15 min, outdoor activities also abound in all seasons.

Certain cities seems to lean to one or the other so we go with what the local norm is when we are trying to add value/appeal to local buyers or tenants.
