Hiring an electrician to correct it is cheap by comparison.

We ended up letting this guy (actually his electrician) install recessed lights and he and drywall crew re-do ceiling.  

I want to pay my guys as soon as they get a phase of the job done, but having to negotiate that final bill was a time killer, stressful and avoidable.Lesson 6: Use licensed reputable electricians for electrical work and licensed reputable plumbers for rough plumbing work.

My master electrician wants nothing, to include material until the work passes inspection.

I need to rewire this home and am looking for an investor friendly electrician for this job.

The electricians weren't pleased about it because they had to move the electrical conduit lines but they should have caught it too.

I kick myself for once opening up a stud bay per floor of nasty cement on metal lathe for risers in units on one side of a building, when on the other side a later electrician just fished the riser up through the plumbing chase and put the panel in a much better location.

They liked that I cared enough to come over and check it out.I went to the next level shadowing experts - a handyman, electrician and plumber at different times.  

I have been out of the residential construction industry for a long time, but I used to be a residential electrician and have done some residential framing and odd repair/remodel jobs previously... but it's been a while.Seems the more I read, the more questions that generates and it would be nice to develop some relationships with others close by who are doing this, and possibly end up working together on some projects in the future.  

Did you also have your handy man, plumber, electrician, etc also picked out ahead of time?
