The concrete will likely do a great job but in my instance $1,800 is pretty cheap insurance to prevent additional sheetrock, texture, painting costs.

I'd really like something durable and CoreTec seems to have the best rep in NY/NJ area (12mm PVC wear layer + 1.5mm vinyl top + 4mm core).Just fyi, the vinyl plants will going over old hardwood floors (110 years old) that are uneven and filled with gaps.

So far we've done the following: new exterior doors; new windows; new kitchen floor; new cabinets, countertop and sink; repaired rotten beam; gutted and replaced whole bathroom; replaced HVAC and added central air; drywalled over popcorn ceiling; replaced all interior doors; mulched and planted shrubbery in front yard; refinished hardwood floors; replaced exterior hose bibs; many, many layers of kilz primer.

Speaking of gardens, the 3/4 acre garden surrounding the house is overgrown, but there are some amazing old plants hidden amongst the chaos - I found a rhododendron with a 30' spread, whose trunk was 8" in diameter - quite a specimen this far north.The main house has seen the anteroom and library/smoking room (on the right-hand side of the main entrance) turned into two bedrooms - with a washroom and laundry closet added between them.

Should there ever be a reversal in the State or Federal laws prohibiting such use the greenhouses would still be a very viable, albeit not as profitable from an ROI stand point, for the cultivation of vegetable and/or other plants that need year around environmentally controlled conditions.My thougt was that since it looks as though there's a real strong possibility that the Marijuana industry looks like it could be here to stay that expanding into commercial and reatail properties that lend themselves to this venue might be a prudent investment.
