It’s the simplest way to get a feel of what it is like to be a landlord without going through the hassle of managing rehab projects especially when you're investing out-of-state. 

Your lender will likely base the loan off just one income/credit though (at least that's how my lenders have done it)I would personally advise against it - life is a windy road and you never know when one of you may want out of the deal even if both have full intent to stay in from the onset.

My feeling is, VRBO trusts its hosts more than Airbnb to do what's right and they, in turn, treat you better as a host.  

I come home look to see if it's on market then send letter to PR (personal rep) Exuctor/trix.
