So we call up to the water company (I dont have access to their bill details so I have to call with them to get any real information about their account) the bill is actually 700  and after some troubleshooting ( checking the water meter outside the home, listening to running water, checking the basement for  signs of water) with them they said they will send out some one to make sure it wasn't a misread.

I was originally technical support; I removed viruses from peoples' computers, and helped them install and troubleshoot problems with their software.

I have done everything from build semiconductors to troubleshoot and analyze components and circuit boards.

I would say it was worth the investment, as well as the extra time for them to trouble-shoot. 

Many can not perform simple trouble shooting..

If it's just a matter of being able to troubleshoot the occasional modem problem, I'd take that risk any day. 

The irrigation guy quoted me $110/hr to troubleshoot a sprinkler issue. 

it makes my wife sick when she sees me leaving our beautiful home to go see about a rental or that my entire Saturday is tied up troubleshooting an issue.
