Talk to the owners of those properties best  you can without being disruptive.

the reason many company's cater to specious political issues is that special interests are vocal and disruptive, whereas the majority keeps quite and doesn't want to get involved.

ALSO, you will always piss off at least one neighbor that will snitch you out because of the mess, noise, and overall disruption that construction causes.Hopefully, the tradesman have done the work to code.

If so, tell them that they need to make the unit available for showings (with notice from you ahead of time) and you will try to minimize the disruption.

I know when we do showing for renting near the end of a lease, we try to do them at the same time to minimize the disruption. 

I do not need to market the property so there fortunately will not be any tenant disruption.
