I believe I have a strong case, but I'd like some opinions as it will be difficult for me to continue paying the mortgage on the property month after month if the other parties try to stretch this out and postpone.A quick background: I bought a 100-year old house in upstate NY overlooking Lake Ontario with its own private beachfront.

I think the biggest risk is if i miss the boat on stretching a bit to buy something here in California, but I think the market is slowing here.

Well, financing as we know it hasn't been around forever Dion, only about 700 years, but it's not a stretch to go back over 2000 for cash sales, if you include goats, horses, chickens, daughters and such with agreements not to attack or go to war.

After failing to convince the 1st to take a short (which was a stretch since it is really not a short sale at all) and realizing it is in the 7th year of a 15 year mortgage, I changed gears and looked for a seller financing candidate.After the arrears are paid and a little sweat equity, the property will have equity since much of the arrears will go towards principal.
