Keep in mind their are parts of town which are up and coming, and others older, who can’t hide what has happened. 

Scary stuff.For your existing tenant, I would increase rent a healthy amount during the next renewal.One other bit of advice, I would hide your last name on BP so a perspective tenant doesn't see you discussing this.When I was a new landlord, I thought vacancy was the worst thing that could happen.

Carpeting can in fact help the buggers hide from the treatments however even vacant hardwood flooring apartments can be infested.

The best of the movement isn't about hiding one under the legal radar in someone's backyard. 

Another thing to consider is why hasn't the single guy filled out the application and upfront is saying that he will give $150 extra a month, sounds to me like he has something to hide and is hoping you over look since his offered you an extra $1800 over the course of the year.

It's interesting that most of the posters on this thread think they need to hide from their tenants.

Investors in stocks in 2008-2009 couldn’t hide from the market correction-didn’t matter where you were or what sector, ( I will note, the astute paper asset investor will likely counter with short selling.

Fresh wall paint wil help hide any remaining smell.
