hello,My name is Nick and I am from mahwah, NJ.My wife and i purchased our first home, an older home in desperate need of some TLC, about 2 years ago and i have been remodeling it slowly in my spare time.I have listened to a few audiobooks about investing and have begun listening to the bigger pockets podcast I am interested in learning about investing in rental real estate.I do have a question to start with: I have a good friend with a significant amount of money he is willing to invest.

You can achieve the best of both worlds it just may take some shopping around and finding those cars on the lot that the dealers are desperate to be rid of.

I now think that the main reason I do that is because most folk here on BP who post their desperation to borrow 80%+ (because they haven't bothered or can't save money to save their lives) have shown within their posts that they do fall in that category of non-astute wannabe Investors, wanting quick-fix, silver bullet answers.Of course, John might have other reasons for high deposits, but the "why would I give the lender more of my money every month" excuse seems very lame during these low interest times...
