Kinda hard to say without a pic.Tearing off shouldn't be expensive, a sawzall, draw out some options to trim it out and see.Would it just look better with composite shingles, getting rid of the tile?

I had to re-rebuild a shed as it was not the exact material they require, and also found out I couldn't replace wood trim on the house with vinyl as that book requires wood trim painted a specific color until all owners on one street agree to all replace with vinyl at the same time.

Maybe I'll do something like:- Interior Trim/Exterior Trim (Same color... white...) - Kitchen (but only depending if it's a "separate" kitchen as opposed to an open kitchen.

It took me a while to look past the numbers and think about owning the house and the age of the roof, type of siding, windows, sewer lines, trees that will need to be trimmed or taken down eventually, the condition/age of the furnace and AC, etc.

What about trim , wrapping the windows , caulk , any rotten wood , disposing of the old windows , thats an old house , there are probably lead paint issues ( need someone certified) Look at the whole picture , penny wise and dollar foolish is a common mistake .

We went with the 3/4" hardwood floors, 12"x12" high end tile, Corian countertops and a very high end trim job.
