Running a successful STR comes down to 3 Ps: pics, people & pricing.1) Decorate your house nicely & pay a professional photographer to take some amazing pics2) Hire amazing people - cleaners, handyman, recruit some neighbors to help fill in the gaps, & self-manage or hire an offshore VA to manage the property if you'd rather make yourself rich instead of making a local property manager rich (more on that here: https://www.biggerpockets.com/... )3) Price fiercely to maximize profits not occupancy (they're not the same thing).

(I don't see us being able to recruit anyone for the job....)Any other ideas or referrals are appreciated!!!

I already saw the eXp online campus and think is great, what I don’t like is the bad reputation and the pressure of the agents trying to recruit people into the brokerage...

It may take some time to interview and talk to them but I guess it also benefits you as you can network with a lot of contractors and recruit them for different projects

Others are simply MLMs that want you to recruit others to the "Get rich quick" seminar for $300 or whatever while providing no actual deals, no real education, no actual mentorship. 

I'm worried that local people will get upset to me if I recruit more...

My dad quit his 9-5 back in the 90's thanks to real estate investing and recruited me as cheap labor to help rehab his properties so I learned a lot, but I've been out of the loop for quite a while now so hoping to get back in the game this year if at all possible! 

Walking a very fine line here between needing to do an SEC Filing and only being able to recruit Accredited Investors.

Loan servicing sometimes goes radio silent and I end up recruiting my originator to work behind the scenes to get the other department to respond.

The area (Bucktown) has perfect demographics and great tenants are easy to recruit and retain.
