What are the limitations and benefits?

I was speaking with an agent last night who said that their brokerage told the property management division to get out of any contracts within the city limits.

The loss created by section 179 is limited to your total net taxable income amount from all "active" business income you have, plus any W-2 income. 

If approved, it would limit how they use competitors' data and algorithms.

But in my imagination it seems like a good way to create some prime real estate in the city limits.

But if the OTA has a significant market share, there are limited options for the host.  

Our goal is to scale quickly and acquire as many properties as possible, with no upper limit on our ambitions.

We’ve considered just disclosing and selling as is, but I suspect the buyer pool would be very limited knowing the issues and risks.  

In my limited thinking as a note investor, I’m not sure why that would be happening.Here’s why I say that.

By observation from a few I've seen in the area:1) Find old guy, hopefully with limited faculties not aware of the market value of his property2) Tell him you love his place and will enjoy owning it and that you're his good buddy who cares about him.3) Offer him at least 10% under FMV and tell him no one else is going to pay that much.
