Domestic goods would only be effected if imported goods are incorporated but since most commodities are steel, oil etc are traded in Dollar the US is immune to imported inflation from these goods.This is the self regulating mechanism that will bring the trade deficit back in line.

Not only is usage down to lowest levels in over a decade, but there's reason to believe that domestic production of bio-fuels will (relatively soon) reach levels that will not only sustain us, but will provide some major export opportunities.

When I got rid of the gas/gas stoves I replaced them with hydronic baseboard run off of a gas domestic water heater.
