From what I have gathered, the current owners aren't managing the property well and that's why the rents are so low (they done speak English so its hard to communicate).

@Hadar Orkibi Other than that you have very high taxes, compared to the USA, and your frequent earthquakes, (which doesn't bother me) NZ is highly educated, very modern, english speaking with a good economy and 1,000 miles from anywhere.

If they were able to swallow their pride and actually DID take hand-outs, then clearly they didn't have too much pride, now did they...I realize the English language is complex, but hopefully you can figure it out...

If you are going to learn via academic setting remember to get friends who speak it (there are language schools for people who want to learn English, volunteer there and it's free conversation instruction).
