They primarily invest the reserves in safe debt instruments (treasuries, bonds, mortgages, loans).

You can pretty much mostly automate it. 

You get a call from an automated message saying "If your interested in selling, please contact this number."

The max ratio for conventional loans is 50% as long as you get approved by automated underwriting, but you're right, the calculations are not as straightforward as you described.

I do agree with you that with Xero and Quickbooks now a lot can me automated through memorized transactions.
