Any published listing (on the MLS or within other marketing materials) should clearly indicate if there is an unpermitted area of the house (such as “one bedroom plus unpermitted garage conversion”).

If you are a bit tech savvy, you can actually make a font of your own handwriting and create a mail merge template that you then print onto yellow paper:http://www.myscriptfont.com/I put my names in a spreadsheet, mail merge them into my Microsoft Publisher yellow letter template, load up the printer with yellow lined paper and BOOM!

If he were to publish your information, that would certainly warrant reporting him to the police (and any identity theft people) so you would at least have that, but as a couple other people said, you should be able to put a freeze on your identity information while this is going on.

@Brie Schmidt Thanks for the link, but  it does say this  A real estate licensee shall not publish, circulate,distribute, or cause to be published, circulated, or distributed inany newspaper or periodical, or by mail, any matter pertaining toany activity for which a real estate license is required that doesnot contain a designation disclosing that he or she is performingacts for which a real estate license is required.A license is not required in wholesaling .
