Background info:  There are communities where row homes are the norm, eg: Boston's lucrative Back Bay, lots of them in San Fran, Brooklyn NY.In the suburbs, we expect SFRs with yards, but there are those than would just as soon not go there.The issue is not the property per se, but the expectations of the local market.

I was wondering if anybody has done this before or has any advice or contacts for Vietnam, Thailand or SE Asia.Thanks for any help you can provide.

In general it is going to be hard to find properties that meet the 2% rule...though they are out there in the cheaper condos in Temple Hills, Suitland, SE DC on the south/east side of the river.
