Denver area - Desk Fees?

I'm getting my license soon and was wondering what the desk fees looked like in the Denver, CO area or anywhere around it?

@Keven Pare so fees vary by brokerage. When I got my license and check around, ReMax was the only one that had desk fees per se (Each month you pay a flat fee to have your license/desk at the brokerage-the monthly flat fee was revolutionary business model that propelled them to success. Most brokerages have you pay a portion of your commissions aka commission split). I think most brokerages also offer you to rent desk space if you want to office in "the office". The cost varies on location and the cost of the building lease by the brokerage. For example, downtown would have a higher cost than say East Aurora since commercial office space downtown is at least 2x the cost of comparable space in East Aurora. Call and ask the admin staff for the managing broker.

I would be far less concerned about  desk fees and more interested in commission splits and support from the managing brokers,  until you have plenty of experience.

What do you want to do with your license? Actively build a career as an agent or do your own deals?  What type of mentorship, support, resources, or leads do you need?  Those are the things to start with when looking for a brokerage.  If you want budget with decent broker support, Broker's Guild has two flat fee models with or without a low monthly desk fee. If you want to work on your own deals that is a great option. However, if you want to build a career as an agent, leads and mentorship are far more important than fees and splits.  A low split on low income doesn't count as much as a high split on a greater volume of business along with the tools and advice needed to grow your business quickly.  Best of luck!

Account Closed Thank you all very much for the responses. Although I love Denver very much, I have made the decision to move back home for a while to South Florida. There I have many more resources and am much more familiar with the area. I WILL be back to Colorado eventually. With that being said I will take all of this great advice with me on my journey to South Florida.

Splits for a new agent probably start 70/30 PLUS whatever your mentor will want. Sometime half of your 70%!! When I was at KW, I was at a 80/20 split with a $23k cap. Now I'm 90/10 with am $8k cap.

Call around, set some meetings, and go from there. Make sure to negotiate. If you're completely new, seriously consider joining a SUCCESSFUL team at KW. Do the training (BOLD, etc). You get out what you put into it.
