To be specific, my steps to fully get into this world so far have been: Buy my first home Sign up to BiggerPockets website Listen to the first 5 podcasts (loving it)Send this messageEvaluate specialized Masters in R.E and meet with alumni and teachers plus attend one class as a guest observerMeet with friends working in the industry (mainly working for big Funds and Developers)Bought the 13 most widely recommended books in R.E.

They are not becoming the authority in their market.. they are just another face among the thousands of other realtors/investors.The absolutely best advice is to start building your network (other agents, title companies, management companies, investors, mortgage brokers etc...).

This is a great place to network.

Learn the basics which you can get understanding from some of the books but the books do not teach you how to run a note business.Learn the basics and network.

Real estate from all perspectives is a networking industry.
