I don't accept dogs in most units but its the little ones that are the biggest problem, very yappy, noise complaints.

My tools were always out of sight and if thieves wanted them, they'd have to make a ton of noise or spend a lot of time getting in.

Title says most of it- I have lots of interest but since the property faces a "main arterial route", which translates to road noise.

You can't require the person to wash their car every day, for example, but you can state that noise has to stop at a certain time, as long as it's reasonable.

@John Ma   I would say on this issue of pets with old buildings noise is also a factor  so I would be inclined to expand only to cats if sound travels a lot in the building. 

You're going to need a little bit of luck too, but if you grind it out you'll find a way...

I am researching noise monitoring software, as I have had "guests gone wild" and police call outs for noise recently.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a good/proven underlayment to use to help dampen noise from the upstairs?
