FTX Disaster! What Next?

.; many RE investors have comparatively longer time horizons, and I would assume that most RE investors have a lower tolerance for risk).I'm a RE investor, and don't have any crypto, but I have plenty of friends who hold a lot of crypto, and we've discussed crypto endlessly...At the risk of sounding like a luddite, even after years of discussions and reading countless articles, I still don't feel like I have a good understanding of crypto. ...and frankly, I'm skeptical of people who claim to have a thorough understanding of it (yet, there are no shortage of self-proclaimed "experts" who describe crypto with the confidence of someone predicting a sunrise!)

Quote from @Michael Smythe: @Nicole Sweat Martel stopped referring our company because we wouldn't support their optimistic numbers on purchase price, rehab budget, ARV and rent.We also dealt with a lot of novice investors who didn't seem to want to take the time to understand the process and the challenges.ALL investors should understand that when renovating old homes, there are unexpected surprises that no one could predict.

When would you buy a property with a negative cashflow?
22 March 2024 | 88 replies
Market circumstances might change, even if your intention is to flip the property, so think about your choices in case your initial plan doesn't work out.Market Analysis: To verify your predictions on future appreciation, growth in the rental market, or the effect of renovations on property value, do a comprehensive analysis of the market.Time frame: Evaluate the opportunity cost of having your cash invested in a non-performing asset and be realistic about how long you're willing to wait for the property to turn a profit.Investing in a property with negative cash flow can be a calculated risk under the right circumstances, but it requires a higher level of due diligence, market insight, and financial planning.
