If you’re in a pinch and need to do some work yourself, I’d consider doing the demolition, landscaping, and if the market supports it, assembling RTA cabinets.If you have the know-how, installing plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures and bathroom accessories is another thing you could do to save a bit of money. 

They are a pinch more expensive as far as closing costs, interest rate, etc, and they also have shorter terms in most cases (5 years is kind of standard).

Also, be careful when folks try to pitch you some of the more distant inland communities because while they may sound attractive with retail pricing, they aren't necessarily the best locations and will feel the pinch first in a softening market.

Let the local governments feel the hard pinch of losing a massive amount of revenue.

DAP also makes a clear elastromeric sealant that is available at the big boxes which can be used  in a pinch.....we just prefer the other.Don't let roofers use plastic boots....you have to check them on this....use the aluminum based boots for a longer solution and run a bead of sealant around the upper edge of the rubber grommet that seals against the vent pipe.  

I money pinch and save like nobody's business, and although love nice things, I am big on not splurging on much of anything.

In a pinch, you could always write something up on the spot.

If your credit cards are 0 then you can use them in a pinch if your property needs a small repair.
