You'll need to do more than one fund to justify the costs.As others have mentioned in different threads, the sponsors are typically using the technology to more efficiently process their existing investors and the new investors simply complement them.

That said, nobody wants an excessive or unrealistic tax burden and there are things that you can do to complement that idea.

Quickbooks online is 100% the way to go, The reporting / Classes / Subclass setups you can do complemented with good HUD backup docks in google doc's gives you everything you need and is endlessly scalable. 

I use solutions like this today such as RentSync which complements my Buildium PM tool.
