That said, nobody wants an excessive or unrealistic tax burden and there are things that you can do to complement that idea.

Quickbooks online is 100% the way to go, The reporting / Classes / Subclass setups you can do complemented with good HUD backup docks in google doc's gives you everything you need and is endlessly scalable. 

I use solutions like this today such as RentSync which complements my Buildium PM tool.
