Similar type of property, a German old couple who I think were more savvy then they let on, the place on the surface had all this interesting wood work and history that they kept emphasizing, while trying to ignore and deflect all the problems underneath.

It's sad to see these brick bungalows in the old German neighborhood up for sale at $30,000 when these same properties in a "good" area would go for $250,000 - $300,000.

If you want stable performing properties, then you can buy in the University, city center (Victorian Village, German Village, Schumacher Place), Northeast, or Northwest portion of Columbus.

In case this is germane to the explanation - The property is a small 2bd/1 ba duplex (1200 sqft total), purchased for $97,500 in late Sept.When I look at the assessed value table, I see the following values:Tax Year 2016: Land Value: $9,357 Residential Value: $27,837Tax Year 2017: Land Value: $5,207 Residential Value: $32,943Tax year 2018,  Land Value: $5,207 Residential Value: $32,943Tax Year 2019: Land Value: $42,250 Residential Value: $36,125At the risk of sounding like a total noob - I am confused.
