My houses use concrete block walls with furring strips nailed to then that then have the drywall applied on top of that.

With underlayment, people state what seems obvious -- that a thicker product will do a better job of deadening noise and perhaps of blocking moisture penetration through a concrete slab.

However, a downside is that a lot of these Windsor properties have block foundation, which some (very few and property dependent) have bowed inwards creating foundation problems if the water management of the building is not correctly drained away.Take a look at the following City of Windsor website to get a feel for the history of the property you are considering purchasing: https://apps.citywindsor.ca/eservices/PropertyQuer...I might have missed a few things, but in general, wiring, plumbing, roof, windows, and hardware (furnace/boiler, etc.) you need to look at.

Consequently, they are much lower than the house down the block that was bought three years ago.If the low allows the county to raise taxes based on the sale price, I'm sure the same law can and should apply when the sale show reduction of value in relation to the previous sale.
