I am inquiring because my wife and I are attempting to utilize the real estate professional status to allow us to deduct passive losses from my physician salary.

I'm going to be a Physician Assistant, do you think it's possible to work a full-time medical career and still become successful in real estate investing without overworking myself? 

Although attending physician salary is 10-12 years away, I want to learn as much as possible about investing so I’m fully prepared to make the most of my advantageous situation.

From conversations I've had with my investors and friends who are physicians, the common threads tend to be 1) more money than time 2) concern about liability 3) med school debt.You will have income very soon.

Since its residential work you should be able to submit yourself providing you are able to produce the appropriate drawings and follow the prescriptive requirements of the IRC.

We are moving to SA in July for a portion of Physicians Assistant school and we will only be there for 16 months.
