My take is this is unethical and you will set the tone of being a greedy landlord at the outset.

Apart from the low dividends, if you want to create a cash flow using stocks, the only way is to be a day trader.

It's Washington DC area so relatively insulated from market corrections, though if the sky truly falls and it happens to be right then, no real estate will be unaffected.I am not motivated to rent by greed, I am motivated by interest - have never done it before, and given that this property I already own and other factors make it conducive to renting- will certainly look at new opportunities in next market as well. 

Seems like greed is getting the best of them.

@Joseph ODonovan I am not sure if you are aware but traders are smart and have started shorting using other put strategies which limits their losses.

Landlords were greedy, they should rot in he** and on and on....

They were happy with X price, as advertised, then got greedy when they saw high demand.

Also, I don't want to be that greedy new landlord coming in and raising rents and things.

These people out here looking to red line profits, and ramp up everything in every possible way are greedy!  

Transaction costs and taxes are too high to trade RE as inventory.
