Attorney Referral OKC area

Posted

I'm searching for an attorney in Edmond/OKC for a rental house we closed end of April. The property manager in place when we purchased, we thought we'd hire too until we read their owner's agreement. The PM follows the tenant. With the previous owner the agreement states the tenant & PM carries over to the next owner when they sell. Problem is, we don't want to hire them and won't sign their contract. The tenant sent them the rent for May, and the PM won't return it to us. They are using it to "cover management fees they are due in the future". They would not give me tenant contact info so I had to next day a letter to them with proof that we now own it, so the tenant would call me. Tenants will pay us June rent direct, but we have this problem with May rent. I did contact one Real Estate attorney, but he isn't getting back to me so was hoping someone has a more responsive attorney that may be able to help with strange problem.

I'm sorry to hear about this multi-layered shady conundrum!  I would pass along Ryan Jone's of Jones Property Law to you as a skilled Real Estate Attorney with a consultative mindset that could be an asset to you here!
