It definitely can be done, but it takes more time and more investment per deal to hit $500k fees.Its also a much, much smaller network.

The area might just be extra popular at this time.

First off, you don't want to buy $100k properties - that is not a recipe for success.

I am not saying spend all your time learning and not doing, but please make sure you learn. 

You're picking a great time to start investing, the area is becoming a hot spot for investors. 

It's been 2.5 years since I purchased my first property and now that everything in my personal life has slowed down I'm back on the horse and ready to find my next investment.
