I recently purchased a condo that was previously owned by a cigarette smoker. 

Right now out of seven units I have four smokers, all of which claim to be 'outdoors' smokers, two of which I discovered subsequent to leasing.

After talking to Atlanta sec 8 the only requirements were tenants couldn't be child molesters or have any convictions of cooking meth.  

The  big energy drain in July-Agust and January-February are the cooling and heating costs, much more than lighting, cooking, or other electrical appliances.

In the past we've used Autumn Oak color of Allure ($1.79/square foot), Cherry (.99 Black Friday special); the Walnut is currently on sale at $1.52/square foot in my area if you don't want to wait and see about if there is going to be a Black Friday sale via Home Depot.For washing walls from a previous smoker, many landlords recommend using TSP (wear gloves and, often; the recommendation is a face mask with this).Gail

I know a few oil burner mechanics who are smokers that routinely put out their cigarette butts in a can of oil.
