In my opinion, it is incredibly important to evaluate your life and compare that to how your life would be if you had ventured to each of the types of real estate investing strategies. 

I wouldn’t be where I am without the skills, relationships, and tough opportunities from those jobs and business ventures.

If there is a lawsuit against the LLC then they shouldn't be able to come after your personal belongings, and if the law suit is against you personally they should be able to go after the properties in the LLC.When meeting with clients the first order is to discuss (A) their personal assets, (B) break down their current investments portfolio and other business ventures before discussing any (C) future goals.

I would suggest networking with other Note investors and perhaps when you're closer to your funds being available, start looking to JV (joint venture) or like you mentioned a partial.

Being new to REI and an investor from Canada, solid advice has been to not venture into an MF as a first investment and that to in a region with challenges.
