The assesssor may also have this information - maybe even on their website as some do now.Remember though, you want to leave lots of room between what the market will bear and what you pay to insulate you against unknowns.

It's in an amazing community that was just extensively upgraded (everything from front doors to new insulation, siding, etc) so there are no planned assessments.I also just moved to Alabama and am self-managing.

.= appreciate your work more...if let's say their voucher is for $1,500, please consider this also includes utilities allocation so your actual total pay may be $1,300. bonus points for a lot of insulation in the walls and attic+-crawl space. my local HA has some discounts available with local vendors for energy audit and property insulation/green stuff. you harden your property by going to nice and abuse-resistent: check your local competition and go one level above. kitchens and bathroom sells the property. also go directly to the heart of the head/ lady of the house!!!

went from cast iron to PVC.New electric water tank, new appliances, refinished the hardwood floors, new smoke detectors, outlets, light fixtures, carpet in two bedrooms, vinyl flooring in the bathrooms and kitchen, 4 new windows, new toilets, blinds for the windows, insulation in the attic (there was nothing up there!)

For cold zones behind walls and not proper insulated you can use a thermal image reader.For leaks you use a moisture meter.Active leaks will register above the required safe threshold.As you get closer to the leak the moisture reading will be higher.How do you know the GC did everything above board??
