Financial Planning as a profession is more geared towards budgeting, cash flow management and investing in public markets.

Wanted something cheaper than Quickbooks and specifically geared to real estate bookkeeping.

W-2 with a few amount of interest / dividend accounts.However, I think once you have rentals, I think it is better to work with a professional.The thing with turbotax, is that the quality of the return is based on your understanding of the answers to the questions that they ask.Sometimes, people do not understand the question.Furthermore, while working with a professional, you can ask him / her questions throughout the year which are more geared towards tax planning.

@Chris Mowery I feel you man - we have a 18 month old boy that has really changed our priorities, and the way we look at money, time, and flexibility.Asset ownership is the way to go, as our economy is currently geared towards rewarding Capital (Entrepreneurs, Landlords, and Equipment owners) not Labor.

@Richard Mui  First, I'm NOT an insurance agent or anything so my perspective is from having a couple policies geared toward wealth building strategies - I don't claim to have all the answers so I'll leave it to the pros for the more technical stuff.

It isnt really geared towards real estate which can make some of the choices or selection process a little more challenging.
