Quote from @Moshe H.:

Hi! North Adams is just about ready to pass new STR regulations. Local operators are pretty concerned about some of the vague language and how much is left to the discretion of the local building inspector. I think pretty much only time will tell how difficult he makes it for us (esp investors from out of town), but I'm hopeful it won't be too onerous.

Lenox has famously enacted regulations that pretty much make it impossible to invest there. But there are some rural resort towns with lakefront properties that do not (yet...) have any regulations.

Thank you for shedding light on this. I’m from Boston and it seems like the only way I’m going to acquiring more strs (to sublease and co-host) will have to be out of state. Tempe, AZ is where my sister and I have one sublease.
