Not sure where the judgement is coming from for making money house hacking?

Cut your losses and move on... the cost (monetarily, in time, and aggravation) to pursue $2K is not a good business decision in my opinion... and even if you won a judgement, collecting is another matter altogether.Am I reading your post correctly - you're in NY, the house is in OH and the contractor is from MI?

In one of these cases, the first (Wells Fargo) was actually filing for a deficiency judgement post foreclosure sale. 

At Upset Tax Sales all the liens, mortgages, judgements etc, transfer to the high bidder at the sale. 

@Joe GoreOther than bankruptcy and obtaining a partial release for exempt property(Homestead)  or settled, On what grounds can it be challenged after it has been "perfected" meaning the plaintiff was granted a judgement and the appeal time has passed or been denied and the Abstract has been granted and recorded ? 

Since her time has run out, our landlord-tenant law allows us to sell her property to recoup the moving and storage costs, however any excess can not be used to pay for the eviction judgement or apartment damages, which were plenty.

I tried to call the attorney office to get a break down of the judgement amount with no success.Will try to reach out Sheriff office tomorrow and see if i can get an accurate answer.
