@Leslie Hsiung, my "sell" suggestion was not meant to be taken seriously - IF you can't find a cheaper suitable living arrangement.

It is career ending.Take the time to learn the law, know how to verify ownership and reduce the trouble you will encounter along the way.

It's challenging because I think it's too good to be true for both of us where I'm at right now, but later in my career it would be too good to be true for me, and weigh heavily in their favor for your reasons.  

I have heard of a new government office coming in on the east side which should provide good careers in the next 2 or 3 years.

As for myself, I have been an agent for 8 years and have been dealing with tenants and tenant screening ever since I started so for me it's something I'm good at, have systems in place to minimize the time it takes from my day, and is something I couldn't imagine paying someone else to do for me at this stage of my investing "career".

kudos to you for pursuing a real estate career despite the challenges you're facing—it's a great step toward your goal of investing in properties and flipping them.

Can I also charge him rent till I find a suitable tenant ( I intend to aggressively market the unit)?
