To clarify the situation a little more, the property is his sisters, who does not want to live there anymore.

My sister is renting out a four bedroom, full basement, living room, dining room, kitchen, front porch, nice yard, etc...anyway shes's renting it from my step dad.

I've had ceiling fans in all my rentals - I've never got a call or had problems with them - except for own - which had a switch go bad and was easily fixed for a few dollars and about 10 minutes -  In fact  - I actually did receive a call about a fan once - a tenant of mine wanted permission to install his own fancy fan that he received from his sister - he said he would leave it in the apartment when he left  - It was a really nice fan - so I went ahead and installed it for him and when he left, true to his word - he did not ask about the fan or indicate that he wanted to take it with him.

There is a house I am interested in that is right next door to my sister-in-laws rental.

I have a sister in rapid city South Dakota and have looked at some deals there that appear to cash flow and I love the area.

I have my sister who is my business partner that also invest part time.

(Sometimes, you'd get answers like, yes my aunt has been thinking of selling her home or yes my sister has a property that hasn't sold for months, the listing is about to expire, sure that lady down the street has a small sign in the window) I did this when I first got licensed to sell real estate in Harford County, I would carry a legal size clip board, a camera hanging from my neck, tape measure and a yellow pencil in hand - I wanted to create curiosity, what's he doing?
