They can enlist the help of the court to fix genuine issues, as the states that I know of have escrow systems wherein a tenant can pay rent to the court instead of the landlord until genuine issues get resolved.

Isn't it amazing that right off the bat, without hearing the other side of the story we are quick to judge the Landlord and see him as the Dastardly Landlord.I am a strict conservative and my son enlisted in the army three times and was awarded the Audie Murphy Award.

This can be mitigated by asking for copies of orders at the beginning to determine if they are ALREADY slated to leave before the lease would be over, and asking for them again if they try to use the clause...because sometimes the transfer is only for a few months (for schooling or something) and they may just be trying to get out of the lease.In general, I would prefer military tenants (especially if they've been in for MORE than 4 years...meaning they committed to re-enlistment) over just about any other tenants....but I admit, I'm pretty biased on the matter. ;)

The whole point of this is to give him the jump start in life my wife and I wish we had as young (financially uneducated) Soldiers years ago, and if he realizes the possibility of REI, and has a potential goal and path when his enlistment is up.Thanks guys
