Most hvac guys can get your unit running in 24hrs, unless an odd compressor or entire coil fails.

Your system will last twice as long - perhaps longer depending on where you are - with a gas furnace/electric AC compressor.

So many things broke or needed repair within the first year or so: refrigerator, microwave, dirty carpets ripped up and subfloor repaired, AC compressor, electric panel updated, section of the roof repaired, leaky kitchen faucet, garbage disposal, other kitchen updates...Anyway, I went through just about ALL of my additional savings for these repairs and there are definitely more that need to be done.

Why not rent out and make money on that compressor in your garage that you've used just one time in the last year?

Also, ice makers tend to break before the legit, essential fridge parts go bad (compressor, control board, etc.).

With Refrigerators you have to be even more careful, they resale higher and by the time people sell them they often are at end of life with noisy compressors/condensers.I don’t recommend outlets or scratch and dent.
