I am looking in the Bryson City, NC area as it has a lot of outdoor adventure opportunities, and seems to be a more reasonable price point than some of the other towns around the Smokies.

It appears there could be some growth in the Clayton area of NC.

People priced out of the state will stay put where they are or try more affordable places like Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina. 

Your tag line says Raliegh, NC; thus, should be some high-priced real estate in that area.Also look for a church or daycare for sale that has been listed for 6 months or more.

The NC Secretary of State has what they call an eNotary, but "the process maintains the traditional safeguards of requiring the eNotary and the signer to be in the same physical location and for the identity of the signer to be verified by the eNotary."
