Don't involve your fathers money, go it alone.My advice is to concentrate on advancing your employment income.

If I had to do it over I would have concentrated on real estate in college and sprinkled in some classes of finance, urban planning or construction.

Maybe you can do better concentrating on the money first. 

If you are thinking about doing it has business, then surely you need to lose your day job and concentrate fully on the real estate path.

Before, banks were lending to zero experience spec commercial builders who got stuck, many were way out of portfolio concentration, and all sorts of short sighted decisions.

Their wealth is likely highly concentrated in a single asset that is levered many multiples of their annual income.

NYU, Columbia, MIT) and many others offer Real Estate major, minors and/or concentrations at the bachelor's level and/or within MBA programs. 

Those of us who have had to manage people and projects happening remotely can tell you that there is a lot lost without regular interaction - I would say daily but I'm not a Luudite and I can see how a day or maybe even 2 remotely can help focus some jobs, but I will tell you that when everyone is working remote they only concentrate on their silos as if interaction with the rest of the staff is unimportant and as if Zoom can completely replace face to face contact.

Where i go, Texas Tech University has a Finance major with a real estate concentration, so check schools near you and see if they offer something similar.
