Also, did they add additional capacity to the HVAC to accommodate the extra square footage?

My advice is always ask what they want and try to accommodate their needs.  

Builder replied they can't make accommodations for us to see it weekly.

or look for accommodation on Airbnb.If you know anything about life in Europe than you will know that if you have a (good) credit history in one country, you'll have no credit history in another country unless you lived there for an extended amount of time.

Go find an agent who is accommodating to your schedule and stick with them, or spend a week or two and go get your license so you can do it yourself.

Second question I have is weather the utilities run to the property are large enough to accommodate your intended use. 

They should let you know whether or not the specific parcel can accommodate four units.

I learned that finding properties that can accommodate a wide range of people is a great combination for STR's, but it doesn't have to be this difficult.
